    1. Re: [LDS-WC] Youth temple work
    2. Winter Quarters has one baptismal session each evening, and potentially four on Saturday. They don't always do all the sessions scheduled. I occasionally give the Temple my baptisms if we don't have a ward baptismal trip scheduled within a few weeks, and they're done by the time I get back the next week for my Saturday evening shift. I have enjoyed helping with baptisms, but know that there are so many people that can't do anything else, that I'm usually willing to forgo that so they can also have a Temple experience. Our next baptismal trip is the same day of my last Family History Class at the Trail Center, so I won't be able to go, unless I drop by to give them my names before going to set up for the class. (They're just across the street from each other, so that is doable.) Baptisms is a wonderful way for someone who is coming back to activity to ease towards more serious Temple attendance. They get to sample the Spirit that is there, without having to make the more serious covenants made upstairs. It's a preparation time for them. The Brother that was baptized last week is being encouraged to come for the ward baptismal trip this month, and we're going to try to get some of his family done at that time for him. Currently we schedule one per day (other than family file or stake temple days). I wish we could have more. I find it hard to get my ward members a time to go. Many would like to go in the evenings, but those times are blocked off for ward/stake assignments. Michele In a message dated 6/3/2009 6:48:40 P.M. However, you are assuming one youth baptism assignment per day. When our 10 kids arrive to do their 50 names (they only get 5 per person), there is a group in the font area and one in the chapel area waiting. By the time they leave, there is another group in the chapel behind them and another arriving at the recommend desk. There are multiple group assignments every day, in addition to walk-ins for family file. I don't know at this point if Provo does more baptisms than endowments each day. I suspect it is more in balance because of the rules that are in place, but the font is open an average of about 13 hours per day. That's a lot of baptisms! **************Shop Inspiron, Studio and XPS Laptops at Dell.com (http://pr.atwola.com/promoclk/100126575x1222616459x1201464730/aol?redir=htt p:%2F%2Fad.d oubleclick.net%2Fclk%3B215218145%3B37264238%3Bd) Please send the one word message SUBSCRIBE or UNSUBSCRIBE to LDS-WARD-CONSULTANT-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to LDS-WARD-CONSULTANT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message **************Shop Inspiron, Studio and XPS Laptops at Dell.com (http://pr.atwola.com/promoclk/100126575x1222616459x1201464730/aol?redir=http:%2F%2Fad.d oubleclick.net%2Fclk%3B215218145%3B37264238%3Bd)
