    3. Stephen and Tom, I've had the same problem, I realize that it is great that there no duplicates this way but when I tried 2 hours later all the names were cleared so I can't help wondering what the clue is! Terrific indicator that nFS is going to great lengths to eliminate duplication. Tom ............................................................................ ........... Already working with them on that. The objective you stated was already met last year. The objective this year is to give them the experience the youths who live quite a distance from a temple to give them the idea how the members prepare, saving and travel at great expense, the distance ("Honeymoon Trail", etc) David Miles Meyer wrote: > Why not help the youth get their own names? True for many but not in my ward. They knew what was involved because they are also Temple workers, too! It is the math of the cards. I was asked to explain the logistics of getting that many in short notice next Sunday to the youths for 5 to 10 minutes. Jill Crandall is right on the mark, it's Utah temples with their requirements. Only Salt Lake Temple does not require the cards, can use Temple file to supply the names. Salt Lake Temple is my ward's primary Temple (requires 2 times per year per Temple President's assignments to the wards/stakes in the district to supply youths for baptisms) with additional Bountiful and Jordan River Temples occasionally. There is a ward somewhere in Draper who has decided on the same thing and the Bishops father who is in my word asked me to give them somewhere around 500 baptisms. I told them I might Get half but I don't want to short change my own ward. If this is Getting to be a new youth deal then the youth or their parents or Their leaders need to get involved n getting the names to do the project. Actually, this isn't a new deal for our ward either. I totally agree with what you are saying (as you saw in my earlier post), but it isn't always that easy. Our young men frequently schedule temple trips to temples other than Provo. It keeps the kids motivated to stay worthy, and it gives them several temple experiences. The ability to do this is probably unique to Utah, but other situations we have are also unique. For example, our annual temple baptism assignment asks for five boys and five girls--10 kids. In six years of Mutual, that means we can get up to 60 kids to the temple once in their teenage years. Several years ago, we had the situation of more than 80 youth in our ward, so we had more than 20 kids who would never have that experience. Since the Provo temple baptism rotation includes all of the BYU wards in addition to the local wards, you can see what the issue is. I couldn't imagine kids living literally one block from the temple and never being able to participate in temple work. We have to get creative to meet these needs. At the same time, we have extensive pioneer ancestry in these kids' families, and it is extremely difficult to find family names for them to submit. My next statement is something I don't say much because sometimes it doesn't come across appropriately, so please understand that I'm trying to help others comprehend how different wards can be. Our ward literally has no non-members in our ward boundaries, and we have one less active couple. I don't know if there's any other ward in the Church this way. We also have something like 80 high priests, so we are extremely blessed with the need of BYU for priesthood leadership to be called out of our home ward to serve in bishoprics and stake presidencies on campus. Some kids around the world can't get to the temple because of distance or money. Our kids can't get to the temple because of the volume of people who have that desire in our temple district and a lack of temple file names for baptisms. With David and others in our circumstances, I would suggest that if any of you have names to share, please feel free to offer them on this list. We have a virtual "army of the Lord" capable, willing, and desirous of participating in this work.
