    3. Hi, I have a question about the Classis Familysearch site which contained the 1880 re-indexed U. S Census. Can if be found anywhere in the same format where one can search neighboring households page by page? The original on Ancestry is much harder to read and search and I miss the other? Help! I have contacted familysearch support and no one seems to know anything about it. Cathe in Colorado

    3. "We've heard from many of you telling us that the link to the Classic FamilySearch site no longer appears on the home page. This was not intentional, and we apologize for the premature removal of this link. However, after careful consideration, we've decided not to replace it. The reason for this is because in the very near future, we will remove the Classic FamilySearch site entirely. When that happens, the link to that site will no longer be needed. The shutdown of the Classic FamilySearch site will take place after we have completed the addition of some of our improved and new site features. We also need to finish transferring all of our data to the new site. Until we make that move, you can still get to the Classic FamilySearch by typing classic.familysearch.org." -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Cathe Taylor Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2012 1:14 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LDS-WC] large temple ordinance files Hi, I have a question about the Classis Familysearch site which contained the 1880 re-indexed U. 3. That is sad to hear that the classic link will be going away. I still use the classic FS to go to the catalog to use the "View Related Places" feature.  I haven't found a similar feature on the new version of FamilySearch.org   I use the View Related Places feature quite frequently, especially when helping patrons in the Family History Center with their foreign research to find a listing of the parishes in a county/province, for example.  Also, the View Related Places gives the results with the foreign characters.
