    1. [LDS-WC] Help understanidng NFS

    3. Yesterday I worked on NFS and was combining records and printed out 8 cards to do at the temple. I do not understand a couple of things. 1. I combined Eliza J. 94WF-HTM and Eliza Jane Brown KL67-82R. I thought when we combined records that the information would be all on the card. The Eliza Jane Brown was my person and I have her husband, and both parents. I have two combined numbers KL67-YQM and a 968Y-XWX I cannot remember now why I have these two numbers. Anyway when I printed the card it came out Eliza J. with no parents. I called SLC and was told the information is in NFS but go ahead and do the ordinances just as Eliza J. and for my records I can write Brown and her parents on the card when everything is completed. Question: Is there any way to get a card with Eliza Jane Brown and her parents or doesn't it matter? 2. I printed out two other sisters in another family. Their parents are in NFS and their ordinances are done and they are sealed together. The printed card does not show the parents and the block sealing to parents is blocked out. Why? 3. I have two brothers in another line. The parents are in NFS and are sealed. One brother's card printed out with parent's name the other did not. Why? 4. Another male card who's parents are in the database and ordinances done did not show the parents on the card and sealed to parents block is blocked out. Why Thanks Nancy

    3. Your questions bring up some interesting points. First, I would advise you to do a print preview of the cards before printing them, next.. it does not matter that the card has a correct name or not. We have been instructed to make any corrections to our nFS records .. and not to redo the ordinance except in case the sex of the person is incorrect. So, of course we need to have as perfect record as we can before printing.. once printed, it's a bit too difficult reprint the cards (it *IS* possible someone at the FHL showed me how today). If a child who has been sealed to his parents has a card printed - the block for sealing to parents would be blocked out. If anyone in Utah wishes, the Family History Library (at least the international floor) is geared up to help Priesthood leaders and just regular folks get up to speed on nFS. Hands on, one on one help is planned (though I prefer Saturdays when I am there). Alan W. 3. Nancy, faulty information was given. first things first.... Question #1 94wf-htm is an original record kl67-82r is a compiled record of several records of the same person KL67-YQM is the result of a combine of kl67-82r (this one result of another combine) and 94WF-HTM In Detail, you need to combine birth date and place by editing one of birth date entry. And the reason parents did not show up is because you clicked on submission while the record was in individual screen rather than as child in family screen. And the reason the name did not show up on card is because in the summary you did not change the name to show full name. Question #2 Are parents still living, or born less than 110 years ago with no death dates shown? Question #3 The answer is have the brothers as children in family screen instead of individual screen. Question #4 See Question #2 And there's this lady who is living in your area who can guide you to reach the successful resolution. She is on this mailing list. Her name is Mary Scott, Northville Ward David Samuelsen Nancy Gibert wrote: > Yesterday I worked on NFS and was combining records and printed out 8 cards > to do at the temple.
