    3. Gaylon  ok  do you see a point in the future where , due to my operateing syatem, that PAF will not work? Now I have VISTA and having no problems.   Harry WE should all be thankful for what we have. We can only truly know who we are when we learn our past --- On Tue, 5/5/09, Gaylon Findlay <gfindlay@ancquest.com> wrote: From: Gaylon Findlay <gfindlay@ancquest.com> Subject: Re: [LDS-WC] What genealogy program do I select? I think there has been an assumption in this discussion that we are talking about programs that can work with NFS. PAF can't do that without help. So we've been talking about replacing or supplementing PAF for those that want to use NFS. If you don't want to use NFS, as you indicate, and don't want any supplements for PAF, then just keep on using PAF by itself. It still runs. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." What we're saying is that if you want to stay with PAF, and you also want to use NFS, then AQ lets you continue to use PAF, while using AQ just as a bridge to connect your PAF data with NFS. AQ *could* replace your PAF, but AQ can also let you keep using PAF and act as a supplement to PAF. We have gone to a lot of work over the last 2+ years to engineer a means to add the NFS syncing capability into a PAF database for this very reason. Keep your PAF if you are more comfortable with it!
