    2. Can anyone else confirm that Family Insight is not going to work? Ohana Software is still selling it. Michele In a message dated 6/10/2013 10:17:06 P.M. It's not a cinch to just put out an update, it costs money to develop software, even to just update it. The Church owns the program so don't hold your breath that someone else is going to come along and update for them. Our tithing funds are precious and the Church wisely decided that they don't need to put dollars into building free software for members. (It wasn't always free either by the way.) The cost would be huge to make PAF sync with NFS and now FT. That is why they partnered with various third parties to fill this need. The 3rd Party Products that will sync with Family Tree will all have free versions available of their software that fully work with FT. These companies by the way eat that expense because the Church pays them nothing for developing their programs to sync with FT (or earlier NFS). You do also realize that Family Insight already announced that they are not updating their program to work with Family Tree. By the end of this month Family Insight won't work with New FamilySearch either, because NFS will go into read only status. You have to move on and let PAF die a quiet death. If I had someone trying to get me to teach a PAF class at this point. I would turn around and educate that person as to why that is as useful to the members as teaching DOS computer skills at this point. Anyone that was capable of learning PAF is capable of learning any of the software provided by the 3rd Party Products. It just boils down to what you are familiar with. I used to be a big time Legacy user and then switched to RootsMagic. Now when I go back to Legacy I can't remember how the program works. If you use a product repeatedly it becomes second nature to you. The 3rd Parties even provide tutorials and webinars to help you learn how their programs work. Just visit their websites. D&C 109:7 says...seek learning even by study and also by faith. Let's just apply that principle. With the millions they are spending on trying to iron out Family Tree, you'd think a few simple updates to PAF would be a cinch. I agree with other. PAF and Family Insight are easy. I tried another software and it was cumbersome and extremely time consuming to do simple tasks.
