You NEED to have a program of some kind on your home computer that you can store information about people you have not yet attached to the family tree, people who are still living, or have sensitive information that they would not want revealed about them, or another family member. But you need to be able to access the information yourself. Hence, you need some sort of genealogy program on your home computer. One of the major players I dislike because, although they are a good program, they're always harping at the owners to purchase upgrades. That would drive me nuts, given that I am now retired on a fixed income. Sometimes you don't have enough information to put someone up on the Church site, so don't put it up yet. Keep researching. And what happens when it's down for whatever reason?
