Understood, but it would be nice if there were some way to search those already connected to you in a known relationship. And then it would be really great to see how you are connected, especially if you are connected in more than one way. :) -Terri J. That's one thing I've found a wish for lately. I've gots LOTS of cousins of many different levels on one particular branch and it would be so nice to look up a name on Family Tree, and if it looks familiar, is of the right place and time, be able to query and find out if it is indeed a relative, especially since I have found some living cousins, discovered through this research, also working in the same place and time. It would be nice to know if the person on the Tree is closer to being their relative or mine, making it easier to say who should be more responsible for the temple work. And then that brings to mind the thought... if Family Tree as a whole is OUR family, then who is to say who has a greater right to submit any particular names after you pass the 110 year barrier? Yes, I'm being argumentative, but wonder if that might need clarification. As I research the area the family referred to above is located, I find that the more names I collect, the more relationships I find among those who live there, and I am tying them all together, but having so many makes it hard to know whether or not I've actually found family when I do a general search, unless I am able to wind my way back to a known position on "my" tree. This may be one of those instances where having a desktop program brings the added functionality that Family Tree will never have. I guess it couldn't tell me the relationship among myself, those Tree cousins and my living cousins anyway, because that would get into privacy issues. I've probably diverged from the original topic enough already anyway. :) -Terri J.
