Why in the world does it "not work" with internet explorer? How many folks don't have Firefox, Safari, Chrome and those other browsers that don't come standard with computers? Puh-leeze. That is expecting a lot of some patrons (and FH consultants)!! Michele In a message dated 3/12/2012 9:34:03 A.M. Go to http://labs.familysearch.org, scroll down the page and click on Standard Finder. After a failed search you can send a request to add a place name by clicking on the Feedback button. The Feedback button currently does not work using Internet Explorer but does work using either Firefox or Chrome as a browser. In the alternative you can submit the suggestion and supporting information using the Feedback link in the new FamilySearch. Requests will be forwarded for review and inclusion in a future release of the new FamilySearch. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Steve Kelsey Sent: Sunday, March 11, 2012 10:57 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LDS-WC] How do I talk w/ people in Standardized Place Names? The standardized place names system needs lots and lots of work. I have suggested a gazeteer for Danish names which is at http://www.krabsen.dk/stednavnebase/ but no one has listened as yet. In the Danish standardized place names there are sometimes 4 choices for exactly the same place, there are 2 places with the same name in the same county which are not distiguished by the herred name. In Copenhagen, it is very difficult for instance to get the right church of many, many churches which you work very hard to get the right one and then all you can put in is Copenhagen as standard unless you really work at trying to find the place name. If Copenhagen for instand it would be nice to have a complete list of the possible churches pop up so we could choose the correct one. The system needs a lot of work to improve these. the emphasis is shifting away from IE. This has been going on for last 2 years now. It's very annoying to get IE message it can't connect to the site at Familysearch.org so many times despite IE having latest version. Firefox is the primary browser for Historical Records and FS Wiki now. http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp shows IE is at all time low. Firefox and Chrome are free and easy to install. On 3/12/2012 10:41 AM, [email protected] wrote: > Why in the world does it "not work" with internet explorer?
