    3. I do and I use force method to get around that. Which is worse? nFS not accepting "dit" instead of (or)? 3. I'm sure there are more cities than Omaha with this problem: we have 5 specifically Catholic cemeteries in our city, 6 Jewish ones, and half a dozen non-denomination/non-ethnic "public" access cemeteries within the city limits. There are also numerous cemeteries in the county. I'm sure that's similar to other places with any size. There is no way I am not going to specify which cemetery is the correct one, so people have half a chance to find it if they want to go there...or if they want to know where the person was laid to rest, or scattered, or whatever. And no, it often is not the city in which they died. 3. I code "dit" thusly: Jean Baptiste dit Belleville /Provencher/ The problem is, a record might well be produced with Provencher as the last name, or Produced with Belleville as the last name. Listings of the name may say Provencher dit Belleville, or Belleville dit Provencher..Add variant spellings, and Americanization's (Provoncha, Provancha, etc) and life, not to mention NFS, gets interesting. As someone said, If I know the cemetery, it's a sure thing I'll add it. Leaving that off would be criminal... Regards, Fred (Provoncha) dit Uncle

    3. nFS won't recognize it for temple ordinances. It has to be "Belleville or Provencher". I haven't got any new entries from my family to try using dit instead of or in nFS yet because so much was already done. David S.
