    3. I think what Peter needs to do is try each of the programs using their trial copies. It will not change his data in PAF at all. He can just delete the trial versions when he is finished playing with them. Each person needs to figure out which program works the best for THEM. However, I have tried all the programs discussed; Ancestral Quest, Legacy, PAF, and RootsMagic. I am a firm believer that RootsMagic is by far, the easiest to learn and use. There are so many functions that RM has but you only need to use those that you are comfortable with. RootsMagic 4 is the ONLY genealogy software that is certified for "Temple Trips". I can sync all my people in my database directly to the same person in nFS/FamilyTree and move data back and forth between the two programs with the click of a box. I can select people for temple work, keep them or send them to the temple for others to work, and print my FOR's from within the program. With the exception of some really complicated combines I never have to go to nfs/FT. As an added help, you can go to my blog and in the bottom right, I have links to the programs used in the FHC and links to their "how-to's". http://granitegenealogy.blogspot.com/ Moving your data into RM is as easy as clicking on import file from PAF and say yes. Within seconds the file is populated in RM. The other really great thing in RM is the FamilySearch Central. This function keeps track of all the temple work you have done. It tells you in both text and graph form what people have been synced to nfs/FT, which ones have informaton that you need to compare with your data (changes that have been made), and those people who still need work or need to be synced.
