Peter: Let me add one more thought to what I wrote earlier on this topic, which in summary is that Ancestral Quest can replace your PAF 5 -- it will be like using a newer version of PAF with a lot more features, including the syncing to NFS. But AQ can also simply supplement PAF 5. Since AQ can work directly on a PAF 5 database, and AQ appears in PAF's "Tools" menu, you can simply use AQ as a set of extended features for PAF and extend the life of PAF. Keep using PAF if you like, yet move into the world of nFS with AQ's comprehensive syncing and other capabilities. I have followed the entries from the others and agree with some and leave it to each to use the program he or she prefers. I have for ages used PAF, gone on to AQ, been around Brothers Keeper and ended using Legacy. And with Legacy I found a program working well for all the things I need it for. I have over time received large ged.coms so a VERY good merge function is a MUST for me. I like that Legacy merges all related - sometimes it takes ages because I started with a person close to present. The important part for me is that I do not have to handle EVERY person individually. It has another great feature - it is available in my mother tongue - Danish. Though it has a big flaw for present it does not cooperate with NFS. Maybe they wait for FSFT - who knows? But I have paid the fee for RootsMagic4 and have that running on my desktop along with NFS and www.arkivalieronline.dk <http://www.arkivalieronline.dk/> (online images of all Danish Church records and censes). On my laptop I run Legacy and have all updated simultaneously - works beautifully. Str. Helle Hirschmann Slagelse ward Denmark Copenhagen Stake > Peter F.
