I just left another presentation on AQ here at the Family History Library. One feature I had not paid any attention to.. but would be very useful (one time) is the ability to upload all your data to nFS. I know people that have uploaded their GEDCOMs through the nFS website only to get the data all screwed up. When uploading through the website.. it does not check for existing records, which caused a mess for several FHC Directors and others when nFS came out in Spain. I would like to hear if any other program does that. Alan W. digging through the microfilms.. finding ancestors, problems, and making new friends. Alan: Let me elaborate just a bit on this feature. You saw in the demo how to upload one family at a time. There is a way to upload larger groups of data in lieu of using GEDCOM. If you haven't watched it, go to http://www.ancquest.com/Ver12-1Tutorials.htm and watch the video entitled "Upload Data to NFS" -- about 7 minutes. This is a technique you can use in AQ to get your PAF or GEDCOM data into nFS without using the nFS GEDCOM upload. It compares all your local records with nFS before the upload, so you only upload the records that are not already in nFS. Gaylon, This feature (which I don't need, because I submitted all my stuff to the PRF) is a neat feature.. I wish I knew about that feature in AQ when nFS rolled out in Spain. I refrained from asking in your demonstration (I didn't want to distract you) if AQ could be an add-in to PAF 4? I also neglected saying that AQ is happy running under Ubuntu and WINE which I find really neat. Using the program today while preparing a demonstration on another floor of the FHL, I found a family with a sister to one of my ancestors! Alan W. .. off to watch more demos on AQ. (I know I shouldn't use the acronym RTFM here). On Thu, May 7, 2009 at 4:50 PM, Gaylon Findlay <gfindlay@ancquest.com>wrote: > Alan: > > Let me elaborate just a bit on this feature.
