    1. Re: [LDS-WC] Stats question [Ans.?]
    2. David
    3. Terry, I believe the only stats you get are what you are able to generate from within your own center. With the change in focus for family history to the ward High Priest group leaders and the fact that the members do not have to clear names through temple ready at a family history center that part of our reporting responsibility is no more. It took our stake president about 45 seconds into a conversation we were having just before we went live to realize that would no longer be part of our report to the stake. We do continue to track attendance at the center and are just now starting to see the return of our members to the center after nearly a year and a half since going on nFS. The easy pickings in their family tree has fallen and now they're coming back for training in research. Also, those that are new arrivals to the area come to learn how to use the program. 3. We are offering classes on Tuesday night in our home because we have wireless internet and others can bring their laptop computers and hook up to it. The classes are very popular. We have a revolving schedule of classes with research, nFS, and PAF as class options. 3. I agree with Jean Weber about contact the family history director to give the non-member friend access to New FamilySerach. Our family history center has many community workers on staff. All of them were given the possibility of using New FamilySearch. The director worked with SLC to create a special password and identification page for each one of them. I am a big believer that if a person wants to submit their information to the Church and realizes that the ordinances can be done than it should proceed -- but with the participation of the submitter. This may be a case where the non-member friend is feeling the spirit of Elijah but doesn't understand why. Perhaps there is a way for senior missionaries and/or younger missionaries to meet with the woman and explain the plan of salvation and the temple. This could also be done by giving the friend a few articles to read. One never knows what doors will open for her. Mary Scott Northville Ward Westland Michigan Stake Detroit Michigan Temple

Please follow that 95 year rule and the 110 year rules. Do NOT submit large number or ordinances at once and be 'proactive' in seeing that the ordinances get done. Above all, show the friend the work being done and explain the process, especially after ordinances are completed. Mark E. Gower Mesa, Arizona, USA

    3. HI You can also talk to your Bishop or to the Director of the Family History Centre in your stake and they can get permission from Salt Lake for the sister's friend to gain access to nFS. They are given a special password. That way the friend will be responsible for her own work and if anyone wants to contact her she would receive the emails. It is just a thought. There is a charge of course but you might want to check it out as it does have bells and whistles that PAF itself does not have.
