That's what the philosophy was. It would appeal (like some of these other bells and whistles) to an untapped groups of members who are not currently involved and hopefully spur them to more good works. I understand that. But why were any hours or monies expended in the creation of that feature which doesn't seem to promote the completion of temple ordinances...or the missions of the church. I can sort of understand the preservation of pictures and stories as having important historical value. But fan charts? I can see the blanks on a pedigree chart just as well. Not that createaFan one It's a feature in Family Tree now. You can switch pedigree with fan chart or vice versa. Fan chart shows 4 generation plus children. That submitter ID is FamilySearch's ! Edit the record in Family Tree to clean out errors. It happened to my folks, too. One case was so bad, I filed complaint via feedback. that is not the reason. It is already printed and on way to be done. As for birth or death place, it is not required if submitted in family mode which is now the only way to do so. I already submitted 3 yesterday and they had no birth and death places, only that they have the virtue of having children and married to spouses. nope to that. Been there and done that. Has to go to nFS and switch the default name because nFS is still open. I can't switch my great grandmother's mother to adoptive parents at all, which is a complete different kind of problem. In nFS it shows adoptive parents while in FT it shows birth mother. FanChart is worse. Will not show alternative parents or right parents, and will show wrong parents. Must switch to pedigree to correct parents. There's no way to mark as default like it is in nFS. Joyce, All calling information has been consolidated and put at LDS.org. Click on Resources and then Family History. This will show you the new page about Family History. At the bottom of that page is a list of Leader Resources, Family History Calling Resources, Quick Start Videos, Indexing Resources, Youth Resources and the Member's Guide. Headquarters is trying to make everything available starting at LDS.org to make things easier for people to find them without having to remember other web addresses. The Consultant information is found under the Family History Callings. That is where you now register, find the To Turn the Hearts guide and videos, course materials, etc. Shanna Jones -----Original Message----- From: lds-ward-consultant-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:lds-ward-consultant-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Joyce Walth Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2013 6:41 AM To: lds-ward-consultant@rootsweb.com Subject: [LDS-WC] Consultant training & help I need to learn everything over, it seems. Peter, In Family Tree there is only one name showing. If your friend wants to change the name shown, click on the name itself in the Person view. Then you will see Edit. Click on Edit and change the name to the correct name. Then add any reasoning and you can also tag any sources. If you want to have the other names kept somewhere, they can be listed down further under Other Information. This will list your friend in the Latest Changes. You no longer need to claim legacy, as anyone can change anything in the Family Tree. The submitter showing as "FamilySearch" comes up when people are using third-party products to make changes and they are writing to new.familysearch and it is transferred to the Family Tree. It is best to just make the changes in the Family Tree and attach your sources and add your reasoning right there. It is easy to do. You can also look for possible duplicates and merge in any duplicates and mark any that are not duplicates as "not a match" to keep others from merging incorrectly.
