This Lawson family is connected by travel/close proximity to the following families: Atkins', Canatsey's, Howard's, Patterson's, Prewitt's, Todd's. by marriage in the 2nd, 3rd generation are: Angelo, Baker, Bowles, Casper, Cox, Gardner, Eubanks, Hayes, Howard, Marlin, McCoy, McWithey, Patterson, Prewitt/Pruitt, Reval, Simmons, Summers, Suter, Templeton, Tunnell, Worrall Joshua Lawson's will was probated in Scott Co., IL it names his wife, Talitha & their children {Governor Sevier/Severe, Isabelle, Elisha E., Andrew, Thomas, Robert, Calvin, Elizabeth, James, Ezra and that of his grandchild, Telitha Lawson who was born out of wedlock to Isabelle Lawson. The Lawson's seem to be a religious family and a very patriotic family. From Joshua & Telitha's family only Elisha E. Lawson can sign his name. The Lawson's are a very large group. The lived in Greene, Scott & Morgan Counties (IL). I can not find them in the 1840 census. I will assume that Joshua & Telitha were not the head of the house - but were living with someone's family. FYI: 1807-1813 Joshua Lawson, SCC Prewitt family 1810 Joshua Lawson, Roane Co., NC 1810 Joshua Lawson: scc for Charles Prewitt jr, Roane Co., TN 1812 Military- Joshua lawson in E. Tn 1816 Tax list 1817 Tax list 1820 NC census 1830 Morgan Co., TN census 1836 moved thru Missouri Oct 1839 grand daughter Telitha is born, IL 1840 ? Joshua? and family? Elisha & Thomas could be with the Suter household in Scott Co., IL 1840 son Sevier, Scott Co., IL census 1840 son Andrew, Rives Co., MO census 1844 Joshua died 1850 census there are some in Morgan & some in Scott Co., IL census.
