There was a James Lawson in early Buncombe Co., N C where our William Lawson was. Ours was born before 1755 in Va. Wm came into Hawkins Co., Tn about 1778 and then with his father in law went to NC This James disappeared from there Our Wm had a grandson in Buncombe named James. I have been to Mabry Mill and did an oil painting of it years ago. They have put it on lots of calanders.
