This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: GayleEllison29 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lawson/3627.1.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Thomas Lawson in Surry County appears in deeds and the census from 1800 through 1819. Then Martin Lawson appears in the 1820 census, a male 26-45 (1775-1794), who could be a son of Thomas Lawson of Surry. Martin appears in the overseers of the roads Cadles Creek with my ancestor Boardvine Braswell. Martin witnessed an Alexander Lawson deed in 1828 when he sold 100 acres, which may be the 100 acres owned by Thomas Lawson. I have to get the deed and check the property description. Is this Martin Lawson the Martin Lawson in Hawkins County? Alexander Lawson who appears to be the same age as Martin, married Susannah Forkner in 1819 and they moved to I think Kentucky.
