Author: GayleEllison29 Surnames: Lawson, Barber, Braswell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lawson/3627.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Because my ancestress Lola Elizabeth Lawson Braswell was born in NC (1850 census) and apparently Surry County (m. there in 1820), my research indicates that the Thomas Lawson in Surry County (1800, 1810 census) is a different Thomas Lawson than the one in Stokes County (wife/Celia). Elizabeth had a sister named Ursula who married Levi Barber. I have been trying to get the female descendants of Ursula Lawson Barber to mtDNA test which should match the male mtDNA is they are related. Two different Martin Lawsons (based on age) appear in Surry County and at least one also in Hawkins County, NC. I have not yet had time to completely research Hawkins County to make a connection.
