These are not my Lawson family that I know of. Of course sometimes it seems they come out from under the rug. So far, do not believe these are mine. According to DNA records, these folks are indeed relatives of my Lawson clan, although they are distant ones. Someday, we're going to get proof that all Lawsons are related in some way. We can prove back to James A. Lawson, born in South Carolina in 1807 who lived in Wayne County, Tennessee and died in Houston County, Tennessee in 1882. Maybe this will open more doors. This means those Perry and Craighead County, Arkansas and the Missouri Lawsons are all related to our group and the Mississippi Lawsons. We are unsure who James A. Lawson's father was although we believe it was Thomas Lawson who lived near him in Tennessee. Maybe this will eventually help us prove that connection. Bill Lawson Little Rock
Hi Bill, Have you heard of the Old Nate Lawson group? They have a huge amount of Lawson info - some but not all going to Nathaniel LAWSON b ca 1755 VA. Membership is free and if you haven't heard of them I can give you a contact person. They have a large library of documents and photos and they share willingly and help each other. If you are interested let me know. Mim
Hello Mim, I would also be interested. My clan in the U.S. went from VA to NC to AL to OK. There are four generations from my father to great-great grandfather buried in Talahina, OK. I believe my great-great grandmother was either Choctaw or Creek and they were force-marched from Alabama to Oklahoma (trail of tears).
