But, Peter Lawson's genealogy was sorted out about three years ago. His DNA results support the genealogy. Peter Lawson was the son of Peter Lawson and Icy/Isa Unknown of Hawkins/Hancock counties. Peter Lawson (the father) was the son of Mormon/Moorman Lawson and second (or perhaps third) wife Elvy Collins. Mormon and Elvy were married in Lee County, Virginia about 1802/1803. Jonas Lawson of 1850 Hawkins County stated that he was present at their wedding. I suspect that he was a son of Mormon by the previous wife. Martha was Martha Ann Helton. Martha was the daughter of James Helton and Mary Unknown. Now, your Daniel Lawson appears to be Peter's John Daniel Lawson.
