Author: WayneandDeborah Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lawson/3427.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.1.1.2.3.1.3.1.1.2.1.1.1.2.3.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Since it has been found that Clement and John Lawson (plus William Howe and John Monk (who tied to our Paschal Lawson) and I think also a Mendenhall/Mendingall/Mendenall (an Isaac Mendenhall was living next to Mace and Peter Lawson in 1830 Hawkins Co., TN) were all associated/related through the War of 1812 (in about Feb - May 1814) Bunch's Regiment (East TN) under Jones Griffin/Griffen and a very large number of men deserted including said Clement Lawson, there must be som military records on these guys. Also Clem Lawson (presumably Old Clem b: ca. 1772) aquired land from a James Paxton (see also Paxon) in Rush Co., IN and we find the Manis, Lawson, Bloomer, Reason, Robinson, Hall, and a Bullen in the next county over - Madison Co.. Dalzel Manis first married Clem's daughter and named a son Curtis presumably after her brother Curtis (also a Hall family name along with Edmund) and a subgroup of this clan can be found in about 1840 and 1850 in Rush County, IN.
