His daughter, Samatha Jane Lawson was married to my grandfather Simon Sylvester Siler. Someone traced this line back to Chief Standing Deer.. and his daughter Sally Anna who married the first Nathan Lawson. I wondered if this Nathan was the one they called Red Nate? And my great grand father was the one they called Black Nate? Nathan Lawson buried in Cane Creek has a Conferated title of corperal in the Confederate Army on his head stone. My mother was a child who listened to Nathan Lawson stories. She told me he was a Baptist circuit rider preacher who never failed to respond to those who asked for prayer.
