    1. [LAWSON] DNA Special
    2. robert mclaren
    3. Family Tree DNA is running a limited-time special that you may want to consider. This special is for a 37-marker Y-DNA test plus a mtDNA test. While I normally recommend their 67-marker test since that gives me the most information to work with, this special is very difficult to pass up if you have Scottish blood <grin>. You can sing up for this special and upgrade your 37-marker results to 67-markers for an additional cost, but the total cost of the special and the upgrade is less than that for a 67-marker test. Additionally, you will get a mtDNA test out of the deal which will tell you of your deep maternal ancestry. The special price is good only if you sign up for a surname project such as the Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project. You must be male since the Y-DNA test is done on the Y-chromosome (the male sex chromosome). In order to join the Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project you must also bear one of the Clan surnames (Lawson, Losson, etc.). If you bear another surname, but because of adoption or other reasons, are actually a MacLaren (on a straight-line descent), you can also join. Please contact me for further details at bobmclaren@earthlink.net. As I said above, this is a limited-time offer and will end on 24 June. The Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project now has over 400 members and as we continue to grow, the odds of finding matches (and therefore relatives) increase. 2. I have been there, done that and have a 67 marker yDNA.  I do not want an mtDNA test.  My brother, John Ellis Lawson did the test for me.
