Gaines' mother, Malvina Piney Lawson, and my 2great grandfather(Banks Lawson)were either brother and sister, or first cousins. Malvina is usually said to be the daughter of Burrell Lawson, and Clement Lawson is her alternate father. Banks Lawson is usually said to be the son of Burrell Lawson, but my Mother was certain he was the son of Clement Lawson. I am a Kay, too, but usually go by Katy. Was Eugene a full brother to Lawrence? I have a difficult time finding Eugene in any records. When did he die?
