However, I can't find any close connection between the Howes and the Manis or Lawson family. William's son Jacob married Winny Lawson, daughter of Preston Lawson. There is documentation that suggests that Preston Lawson was a brother of Martin and Alexander Lawson of Surry County, NC. There father was Thomas Lawson who appeared to have died before 1820.
