Now, the fact they were Stevens is interesting. Stephen Stevens was apparently married to Susan Unknown (likely a Manis or related family). They had several children who disappeared. She appears to be the mother of Nelson Manis' wife Elizabeth Stevens, who daughter Mary appears to be the Mary Manis who married Current Lawson. Widow Susan married Thomas Lawson who appears to be the father of 1840 Wallen Lawson and Stokeley Lawson. She also appears to be the Susan Lawson who was prosecuted for L&A with Peter Lawson. It seems to suggest that Thomas Lawson Sr and Clement Lawson were probably brothers and were the same individuals named in the Stokes County land transaction.
