There was a Thomas Moreman (google his name). One of his descendants may have been the source of old Moreman Lawson's name. Remember the peculiar nature of these Lawsons (and other families) in using other's family names not necessarily of direct blood relatives. The Sheltons may need to be looked at closer too as Moreman's first wife is rumored to be a Shelton or related. There is that old Charles Lawson (?1830 census or if not, 1840) in Hawkins Co., TN who is also a bit of a mystery. Who were his children, where did he go or did he use another name later ?
