My husbands ancestor was Benjamin Floyd Lawson [ he had a brother Francis called Frank]. He lived in Madison Co., NC but their father was Elijah from Hawkins Co., Tn. Several Lawsons from Tenn. enlisted in Madison Co with Floyd. It was a Conf. outfit and Floyd died in the service. Francis may have enlisted with then. Your Francis was not Floyds brother.
