Hi, my great grandfather was Rev. William Madison Lawson, a descendant of Finnish people, yDNA N1, born January 20, 1802, maybe in VA, maybe in Finland. He was the son of James Lawson and Lucy Cox.  Back in that day, if there are two James Lawson's, even tho one may be an uncle, the second one takes the name of Jr. My William married Anna Thompson.  His children were Madison Thompson Lawson, married Ruth Turner (my grandparents); Jefferson Thompson Lawson; Preston Thompson Lawson; Claiborne Thompson Lawson; Lucinda Thompson Lawson; Mahale T. Lawson, Wilson T. Lawson; William Zachariah T. Lawson; Abraham T. Lawson, Ruth Jane T. Lawson; Emeline (Ella) Lawson and Susan M. Lawson. Madison T. Lawson (b. 11/17/1827, d. 11/04/1893) and Ruth Turner, dau. of William Turner and Martha Philpott, m. 1857, had the following children.   GEORGE WILLIAM LAWSON, B. APRIL 8, 1858, D. JULY 28, 1934. GEORGE MARRIED SALLY SHOCKLEY AUGUST 25, 1882; their oldest son was William Matson Lawson, born about 1883, married Rosa AYERS, MEADOWS OF DAN, VA.; CAMDEN M.
