According to the archive held at Nottingham University on this Lawson family, William Benjamin fled to New Zealand, then Australia, in 1851. See: http://mss-cat.nottingham.ac.uk/DServe/dserve.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=show.tcl&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqSearch=((AltRefNo='ln')AND(Level='Fonds'))&PF=Yes I have located a record for a marriage and a birth for a William Benjamin Lawson: m. Hellen Adams, 1859, Victoria, Australia and the birth of a child to this couple: William John Lawson, b. 1865, Victoria I hope to visit the university in Nottingham soon to look through the correspondence there relating to the family but for the time being wondered if there were any descendents of William Benjamin's brother, Thomas b. 1821, and sister, Jane, lurking out there who know what happened to William Benjamin. I am also interested to know what happened to William Benjamin's wife, Ann Hemingway, b. 1826. It looks as though she didn't go to Australia with her husband and remarried a Michael Joseph Kilburn in Newcastle. Any help would be much appreciated. Take care John Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
