Lebanon Arshalous "Alice" (Simikian) Lawson, 87, of Mt. Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. Devoted wife for 63 years of Arnold E. Lawson; loving mother of Arnoldine "Dee" Lawson (Gary) Lakes; beloved daughter of the late Karnig and Dikranouhi Simikian; caring sister of the late Rose Simikian, the late Charles (late Helen) Simikian and the late Sophie (Jim) Mastic. Dear aunt of niece, Diana (Ron Jr.) Betz, and of nephews, Alan (Patty) Mastic, Kevin (Pat) Mastic and Chuck (Jenny) Simikian. Also survived by 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; three great-great-nieces and nephews; and devoted friends, especially her best friend of 80 years, Beatrice (the late Edward) Whiteford. Mrs. Lawson proudly served as a WAVE in the Navy in Washington D.C. from 1943 to 1947. Upon her subsequent return to Pittsburgh, she served as an executive secretary at EC&M, Square D Company and Glass Containers Corp. Her consistent optimism, courage and loving and generous spirit were a blessing and an inspiration to all who knew her. The family extends special thanks to the entire staff at the Concordia (formerly Covenant) of the South H! ills for their compassionate and loving care of her. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
