Julie, You can research on line and learn much about the Korean Conflict. It was a political war but never officially called a war, but it was one of the toughest in our country's history. While we won many battles, we were also over run when the Chinese Army entered the war. Our troops retreated in the largest such action in our history. Soldiers froze to death, lost feet, hands and other body parts to the frozen temperatures. We didn't win. They called a truce. Gen Douglas MacArthur wanted to take on the Chinese communists and deal with them but President Truman fired him over that. It was one of the bloodiest in our history. There were also some of the most heroic actions taken by some soldiers. Do the research. It was one of our worst military experiences.
