Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Ronnie Lawson, 53, who departed this life Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Lawson was born Feb. 23, 1956 in Youngstown,(Mahoning County) Ohio a son of Willie Fred and Ellen McDaniels Lawson. He was a 1974 graduate of The Rayen School and worked for Midwest Steel Corporation. He attended the Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed playing football and socializing with others. He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, his father of Youngstown; two sons, Omar Lawson of Columbus, Ohio and Jason Dukes of Ohio; two brothers, Ike Black of Youngstown and Andrew Lawson of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Mary Eley of Columbus, Linda (James) Washington and Barbara J. Lawson, both of Atlanta and Gwen (David) Sewell of Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; stepmother, Eva Lawson; a son, Ronald Lawson Jr.; brother, Freddie Lawson; and grandparents, Mary and Robert E. Lawson, and Richard McDaniels.
