I don't have the answer to your question, except to say that my Boardvine Braswell family still lives in Clinton County, KY. My ancestor, Boardvine Braswell b. 1799 NC m. Lola Elizabeth Lawson, b. 1803 NC, in 1820 in Surry County, NC. By 1830 they had moved to Cumberland County, KY, later Clinton County, KY. We believe Elizabeth Lawson's father to be a Thomas Lawson, b. abt 1755 (according to the 1800 and 1810 Surry County, NC, census). I believe there are postings on the rootsweb Lawson List about Lewis Lawson. Your grandmother Etta/Ettie Carter's family? My ggrandfather Ephriam Braswell (grandson of Boardvine Braswell) married Jane Carter b. in Sumner County, TN. Since Sumner County, TN, is adjacent to Clinton County, KY, the Carters are probably related. A lot of research and effort by many has been spent trying to sort the Carters from Halifax County, NC, which migrated into KY and TN from Halifax County, NC. I am interested in this Thomas Lawson also. Gayle Braswell Ellison Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
