She was the daughter of WJ Lawson. She married Elige Collins and had a son named Lee Collins who married Katie Irene Hooker (daughter of Abe & Lilla Fry Hooker). I am at a brick wall going further back for Nannie and also at another wall with Katie Hooker's family. If these names are familiar and anyone is able to assist, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you. I do not think this one was the husband of Dicey and father of Elizabeth Lawson Hurt. The Charles I am seeking was born probably around 1782. His sons Alexander, David, John and James all had children in the Parry Sound Area. If we can get a solid YDNA profile of Alexander through his descendants we can narrow down the area of Scotland that he emigrated from and possibly connect him with other Lawsons in Canada and the United States or Australia. Descendants of James Lawson b 1870 are profiled on Family Tree DNA's Lawson project numbers 115042, 138629, 139839. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. His parents were supposed to be Randolph Lawson and Susannah Cross. Also when Andrew Jackson Lawson married Malinda Ann Foster 2 March 1854 in Patrick County, VA he indicated his parents were John Lawson and Patsy Hooker. In the Lawson Newsletter 25, page 249, it indicates that Patsy Hooker Lawson was believed to have died before the 1850 census. If this is the marriage and two people you are referring to then I am not sure that this John was a son of Randolph Lawson because Randolph had moved to TN and or KY before 1800. Do not know who this John Lawson's parents were. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My father is William Lawson (b 1919), the youngest son of James and Elizabeth. He is still living. My parents immigrated from Scotland to Canada in 1956 when I was 3 years old. I have undertaken significant genealogy research. I have 3 younger brothers, all in Canada. Including my father there are now 25 direct descendants, plus spouses. I would be delighted to hear from you. I have much information to share with you and would benefit from missing pieces you can offer. Randolph mentions that his father served a three month tour. If there is documentation to the actual name of their father would appreciate the source. There is no proof of any kind that has been found by this researcher that Joshua Lawson is the father of Anna. It has been theory only. If proof has been found would appreciation knowing the source. As far as the migration patterns, that area is only about 100 miles in circumference. They did travel about a lot but remember they went by river or horse. example in Tennesse John in Morgan Co lived on Paint rock creek, Randolph in Campbell co lived on Paint rock creek, David in Scott co lived on Paint rock creek. They were about a mile or two apart. Many of the Lawson's that ended up in North Carolina were barely inside the state line. In my research I have found only one Randolph Lawson in that time frame until his son was born 1803 Randolph Lawson Jr. My research reflects 4 sons of Randolph's and I have their families. None appear to have married into the Hooker line. It has been documented that Barthlomew is not the father of Randolph. Randolph is my ggggrandfather. with most of his family documented.
