    3. William Lawson was born about 1803/1810, d. after 1880 and before 1900 in AR, and Mahala Mackey was b. abt 1810, d. before 1880 AR. The Mackey's were from Knox Co, TN. Lawson's were from TN/MS/AL. They had 18 children together. Several are buried in Big Flat Cemetery, at Big Flat, Baxter Co, AR, the youngest is buried in Comanche Co, TX. Their daughter, Matilda Jane Lawson married in Stone Co, AR to William Albert Norman--my grt grandparents. Being you are a "Genealogy Digging" beginner, one thing I would suggest is to ask folks on this list about various places to look for any connection to your ancestor. When asking, your ancestor's birth and death dates are as important as their name. Also of importance is something about where they lived, and even where born if you know. If you know the spouses name, tell us that also. You might want to read the archieved emails for this list. They settled in Union Twp in Howard CO and in Wildcat twp in Tipton CO. Kokomo is the County seat of Howard CO. If you can give older dates I can see if there is any match. The original name was Catlett Lawson born about 1770 and is paying tax in Caroline County in about 1790. With two or three children he migrated to Mercer CO KY for 1820 census. When he went to KY he migrated with three other Lawson families... lived close to each other in 1810 census. One of the names was Lottie Lawson with children.
