He received his elementary education at Boone County School District #2 and graduated from Albion High School in 1957. On October 21, 1962 Richard was united in marriage to Janet Kruse at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. They lived and farmed west of Albion until moving to town in 1979. Richard was a part of the Nebraska National Guard from 1962 thru 1968. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #736 of Albion. On Wednesday, January 14, 2009 Richard died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at the Boone County Health Center in Albion at 69 years of age. He is survived by his wife Janet of Albion; 3 children: Rachelle Riedmiller and husband Shawn, Andrea Stuhr and husband Jon all of Columbus, NE; Eric Lawson and wife Sherry of Tilden, NE; 8 grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
