I found a listing in the 1900 census for an Alvin D Lawson in West Virginia. There is a listing for a son born in Oct of 1881 but it is listed as Harley. I believe this is a good match since Albert's son was Alvin. Mistakes like this do occur on names in census listings (nicknames, etc are found instead of a 'given' name). Look at it and see if this is not a good candidate for his family. Alvin was born in 1849 in West Virginia and his wife was Sarah A ?
