Go here and you can get more Lawson information. http://www.lawsondna.org/Pages/genealogy.html Go down to Timelines and you can see who was in which county and when. You get the idea that the Lawsons moved frequently, but instead new counties were formed from older counties and these individual were probably at the same physical location in many cases. I have been there, done that and have a 67 marker yDNA. I do not want an mtDNA test. My brother, John Ellis Lawson did the test for me. Wilma Lawson Padgett ----- Original Message ----- From: "robert mclaren" <bobmclaren@earthlink.net> To: "LAWSON" <LAWSON@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 15, 2009 9:23:18 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: [LAWSON] DNA Special Family Tree DNA is running a limited-time special that you may want to consider. This special is for a 37-marker Y-DNA test plus a mtDNA test. While I normally recommend their 67-marker test since that gives me the most information to work with, this special is very difficult to pass up if you have Scottish blood <grin>. You can sing up for this special and upgrade your 37-marker results to 67-markers for an additional cost, but the total cost of the special and the upgrade is less than that for a 67-marker test. Additionally, you will get a mtDNA test out of the deal which will tell you of your deep maternal ancestry. The special price is good only if you sign up for a surname project such as the Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project. You must be male since the Y-DNA test is done on the Y-chromosome (the male sex chromosome). In order to join the Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project you must also bear one of the Clan surnames (Lawson, Losson, etc.). If you bear another surname, but because of adoption or other reasons, are actually a MacLaren (on a straight-line descent), you can also join. Please contact me for further details at bobmclaren@earthlink.net. As I said above, this is a limited-time offer and will end on 24 June. The Clan MacLaren Surname DNA Project now has over 400 members and as we continue to grow, the odds of finding matches (and therefore relatives) increase. I am guessing that Banks was an Uncle or possibly an older brother if his father was married multiple times. By the way, there is are twos good books online that discusses the emigration of the Palatinate Germans from PA to Rowan County NC (became Surry and Stokes) about 1750 (Section 12). There are free on google books. As you mentioned before, it was likely that Clement Lawson's wife was one of them. My own ancestor was the Palatinate Jacob Miller who settled in New Bern, NC in 1710. They then moved to Grant Co., IN. Isom came to OH from VA and as far as I know, at this time, there is no association of this Lawson line to Paschal's line. Paschal Lawson is linked directly to Banks Lawson and, to Peter and Alem Lawson through a court record and the 1836 Hawkins Co., TN tax list with more of these "surnamed" Lawsons. Paschal's father and a number of these district 3 and district 4 Lawsons are unknown but the clues so far in the line of Paschal (b: 1813 - 1815) and our Clem (b: 1817 - 1821) are the names Clem, John, Andrew and Mahlon. Remember that an older Stokely Lawson show up on the 1810 Lee County Tax list along with David Lawson. I presume that he is from that group of Lawsons. Stokely Lawson and Wallen Lawson were found living next to Thomas Lawson (likely the Thomas Lawson who married Nancy Wallen) from Lee County in 1840 Hawkins County, who was old enough to be their father. Just before 1850, Thomas Lawson married widow Susan Steven. In 1860 Hawncock County, Stokely was again found living next Stokely Lawson.
