Hi, my great grandfather was Rev. William Madison Lawson, a descendant of Finnish people, yDNA N1, born January 20, 1802, maybe in VA, maybe in Finland. He was the son of James Lawson and Lucy Cox.  Back in that day, if there are two James Lawson's, even tho one may be an uncle, the second one takes the name of Jr. My William married Anna Thompson.  His children were Madison Thompson Lawson, married Ruth Turner (my grandparents); Jefferson Thompson Lawson; Preston Thompson Lawson; Claiborne Thompson Lawson; Lucinda Thompson Lawson; Mahale T. Lawson, Wilson T. Lawson; William Zachariah T. Lawson; Abraham T. Lawson, Ruth Jane T. Lawson; Emeline (Ella) Lawson and Susan M. Lawson. Madison T. Lawson (b. 11/17/1827, d. 11/04/1893) and Ruth Turner, dau. of William Turner and Martha Philpott, m. 1857, had the following children.   GEORGE WILLIAM LAWSON, B. APRIL 8, 1858, D. JULY 28, 1934. You can contact me off board directly at george.lawson@bellsouth.net if you would like to exchange information. I would like to see what you have on that line. Currently my confirmed information stops at James Sr.(1778) but by virtue of a DNA test (64)we know we are a part of the Falling River clan. I just can't make the actual connection between James and William(Falling River). You might have my/our missing link somewhere in your data. My mother is mary Nell Rosson,her dad was Joe Pat Rosson, his mom was Panatha Ann Lawson, her mom was Joanna Lawson, her father was Andrew Jackson Lawson, his mom was Gincey Lawson, & her mom was Elizabeth Lawson.I have never found anything on who Gincey or Elizabeth Lawson were married to or if they were ever married. Nor have I ever know why Joanna had children by her sister's husband, I have always wondered why (especially how unheard of it was back then & how scandalous it had to oof been for the families in those days!) How the two sisters dealt with it! Now days it's nothing to hear about that sort of thing to happened,now it would make for a great Jerry Springer show! How times have changed!!
