    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: carlllawson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.lawson/1279.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: If either of you have some documentation that Jincy was married to a John Lawson, there are a couple of us that would love to see it. Two of Jincy's known male children have had their DNA test. One is Andrew Jackson Lawson and the other is Pickens Lawson. Their DNA does not match, which indicates that they had different fathers. If you go to http://lawsondna.org/Pages/DNA_Project_37 markers.html http://lawsondna.org/Pages/DNA_Project_67 markers.html and look at member 111581, Group #4, that is Pickens Lawson's line and there are a number of men tested in Andrew Jackson Lawson's line. They are Group #15 members 26446, 80539, 29127, 128062 and 31836. Three of us have travelled to St. Clair County, AL and check all the records there but we could not document Jincy's husband or her parents. We do know Jincy Lawson is enumerated in the 1830 St. Clair County, Alabama Census. In her household are 1 male, age 5-10 years, 3 females, age under 5 years, and 1 female, age 20-30 years. She is living next door to William Clark who married an Elizabeth Lawson, 6 households from John Lawson and 5 households from Goulder Fields. This John Lawson is said to be the one that you find in Walker County, AL in the 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. There is documentation that indicates that this John lived in St. Clair before moving to Walker County. Next we find Jincy in the 1840 Tishomingo County, Mississippi. Her family is living next door the families of William (other moved to Arkansas) and Daniel Lawson (who died in Mississippi). The index listed her name, as Tincy but if you look at the microfilm you will see that it is Jincy. In her family she has 3 males 5-10 years, 1 male 20-30 years, 1 female under 5 years, 1 female 5-10 years, 1 female 10-15 years and 1 female 30-40 years. She was also in the 1841 and 1845 Tishomingo County, Mississippi Tax List. The next census she is found in is the 1850 St. Clair County, AL census. Jerry Jones of St. Clair County has been studying the history of the county for many years, believes Jincy was a daughter of Elizabeth Lawson and never married. Some say she was a schoolteacher. I believe he also stated that Elizabeth Lawson was Washburn and married to a John Lawson. I discussed this with him on the phone a number of years ago and he stated he did not have any documentation on this. If you have documentation on this, the three of us would love to see that. Any other information to help us sort out these Lawson would be helpful. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have more of the Johnson's Battle's,Lawson's and other connections to me...in a book from my Grandmother Johnson has stories and pictures and clippings ..... BUT I still cannot figure out the Lawson's above John and Jincy; I think Jincy just sleep around [as we would call it][sleep with uncle ,cousins,..and also that Jincy was also a Lawson from another line cause I found Jincy mother was Elizabeth Washburn who married a John Lawson[which I call John of Mississippi] I think his father was Gilbert and Mary Tame Lawson but still out on it. and that John's[which I call John of Alabama] who married a Elizabeth possibly Perkins??
