Born in Clay County, he worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Commissary Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Laws of the home; a son, Jerry Martin "Marty" Laws Jr. of Lafe; three daughters, Debra Nash of Jonesboro, Mary Lou Ragsdell of Paragould and Cindy Rodden of Iowa; three brothers, Doyle Ray Laws of Senath, Mo., Rayburn Laws of Clarkton, Mo., and Roger Laws of Festus, Mo.; six sisters, Barbara Bishop of Rector, Dorothy Brown of Greenway, Karen Pemberton of Clarkton, Mo., and Loretta Furlow, Mary Jo Samples and Martha Kay Wright, all of Kennett, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Mabel Cowgill Laws, and a daughter. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Heath Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Paragould, with Phil Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery at Paragould. Pallbearers will include Bill Rawls, Tommy Wray, John Miller, Keith Morgan, Charles Rowe and Phillip Rowe. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
