I'm working on John Law, Salem, Washington Co., NY who m.2 Elizabeth Blair Gilmore about 1790. Below is the information I have. John Quincy WING, b. 22 Sep 1848; m. Lucy (Lulu) A. FINKE, from Savannah, Carroll Co., IL. Sept 1873. Dau. Florence A. 1877. Jones County, Iowa 1879., p. 687. John Quincy WING, attorney at law, Monticello; native Washington County, NY, grew up and attended school there, going through Washington Academy at Cambridge; then entered Ft. Edward Collegiate Institute; Normal College of Poultney, VT; Law Dept. of State Univ. of Michigan in 1872. Law practice Chicago. Jan 1873 to Jones County. City attorney. During last year of the WAR, he raised a regiment, and upon its organization, he was elected and commissioned Colonel, but the regiment was not called into the field; Co. D of the 9th I.N.G. The 1900 census shows John Q. living in Westfield Twp., Fayette Co., Ia. Wife is not in household. His brother Edwin and mother Louvina Carpenter are living with him. I am wanting to find descendants in hopes of learning about death date and burial location of Elizabeth BLAIR GILMORE LAW. She was 2nd wife of John LAW, and great grandmother of John Quincy WING. She was born 1745, m.1 George GILMORE in Pelham, MA 1765; he died 1786 Cambridge, Washington Co., NY. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jean Gilmore
