    1. A Commentary on James Windsor's Intro Letter
    2. An Open Letter to Rootsweb Companions and Cousins: I have benefitted greatly through the years from others who were willing to spend their own time and money to send me copies of their records. Their cost for copies and postage and computer disks was valuable and significant in all of these instances. I have always tried to express my thanks with a note or a call, but sometimes (like noiw after reading Mr. Windsor's letter) I feel that I may have been inadequatly compensatory for folks on fixed or little incomes. I believe that amateur genealogists should not charge for their efforts, but I would like to both take this moment to again thank all who have helped me. I want to express my hope that I can pass that spirit of cooperation and sharing of time along to others of this generation and the next. And I want to say that anyone who ever needs to be recompensated for their direct expenses (postage, copies, disks, etc.) in sharing information with me should let me know. It is this information that we share which makes genealogy so fun. Tony Wood, a descendant of Jesse LAW ( 1758-1839 ) ps. James, Welcome aboard and thank you for your letter. It made me think.
