    1. John Law VA Pension Roll of 1835 Conflicting Data
    2. Wanda, In a message dated 97-11-22 03:23:14 EST, you cite: << Virginia Pension Roll of 1835 Report from the Secretary of War In relation to the Pension Establishment Of the United States 1835 Copied and indexed by William R. Navey P. O. Box 251 Hollyridge, NC 28445-0251 JOHN LAW FRANKLIN COUNTY PRIVATE VIRGINIA MILITIA $43.33 ANNUAL ALLOWANCE $129.99 AMOUNT RECEIVED DECEMBER 24, 1832 PENSION STARTED AGE 87 >> Your data looks strong but I find in my records the following citation: Raney Collection, Vol 43 Census Records John was in Revolutionary war # S8809. In Va. Line. He applied for apension from Franklin Co. Va. 18 july 1832 at age 85. Raney has had significant conflicting data in other presentations in that his sources appear to be many and various. However, in this case we have two separate dates of submission and birthdates for what appear to be the same event, and using what should be the same source. Does anyone have an opinion on which should be relied upon as the most accurate? Thanks, Tony Wood [email protected]
