Dec 2, 1778 from William Laws and Mary, his wife, of Halifax , to William Glass Sr. of Halifax, for 500 pounds, one certain tract of land in Halifax and Pittsylvania County on Banister River and the branches of Brush [Cr.?], containing about 500 acres, 400 acres of which was patented to said Laws on Jul 14, 1769, and the other 100 acres lying on Banister river, including the plantation where the said Laws now lives by deed & c, and bounded by James Ridgway, Alexander Chizenhall, said Laws' old line, the line of said Laws' patent.
