Asheville Citizen-Times Asheville, NC August 28, 2001 EVA BROWN BURNSVILLE - Eva Brown, 90, of Hunter Street, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late William and Rena Edwards Laws and wife of Thurman Brown, who died in 1988. A son, Nathaniel Brown, also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are five daughters, Lois Roland and husband, E.J., Grace Hensley and husband, Bill, and Eloise Hensley, all of Burnsville, Emma Jean Hunter and husband, Clarence, of Hampton, Va., and Louise Hughes and husband, Bill, of Hickory; three sons, Dean Brown and wife, Keta, Benny Brown and Billy Joe Brown, all of Burnsville; two sisters, Addie Laws and Leah Bailey, both of Burnsville; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Revs. John Murphy and Bud Edwards will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday ! at Bailey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
