Tradd St., Statesville, died unexpectedly on Friday evening, Dec. 14, 2001. Mrs. Laws was born May 28, 1941, in Ashe County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Fields and Dora Hartsoe Caldwell. She attended Statesville City Schools and was a care giver at Oakland Heights Daycare. She was married to William Wayne Laws on July 2, 1971, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Robin W. Massey, 428 S. Tradd St., Statesville; three sons, Thomas D. Weaver and his wife, Marlis, of Ohio, John B. LaForce and his wife, Angela, of Troutman, and Andy F. Weaver and his wife, Shelia, of 423 S. Tradd St., Statesville; one stepson, Danny W. Laws of Atlanta; one sister, Carolyn C. Barnhardt of Crumpler; two stepgrandchildren; nine grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn E. and Richard Caldwell; two sisters, Louise LaForce and Adell Deal; and one grandchild, Aaron Massey. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tony Bunton will officiate and interment will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Mike Deal, Don Pierce, Gary Barnhardt, David Johnson, Seth and Brian Pierce, Richard Bruce and Keith Hodge. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Laws.
