Hello list. I have been operating under the impression that my great-grandfather, John Melton Laws, was the son of John T. Laws, who was the son of James Laws (both of Madison/Boyle Co. KY) based on information given to me by one of John Melton's grandsons. However, I recently obtained Melt's death certificate. It lists Melt's parents as William Laws and Martha Ellison. I found a William Laws living in Whitley County, KY which fits in with my family. Melt Laws and Polly Moses were married in Whitely County and lived there for awhile before they moved to Shelby County, Ohio. I know James Laws had a son named William. Does anyone know if the Whitley County William and the son of James Laws are one and the same? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. My Laws family is proving to be one giant brick wall!
